Movie Review: The Gentlemen (18)
The Gentlemen (18) - Out Now
If you're over 18 and looking for a great Guy Ritchie movie to watch, then this is certainly recommended. Its my first film of 2020 and I think I kicked it off with a good one...
Saw this film at ODEON Bristol at 3.10pm on a Windy Wednesday afternoon, I had a whole afternoon spare, so thought I'd take myself of to the cinema... A good idea actually...
About the movie... (taken from the ODEON Website)
'The Gentlemen' follows American expat Mickey Pearson (Matthew McConaughey) who built a highly profitable marijuana empire in London. When word gets out that he's looking to cash out of the business forever it triggers plots, schemes, bribery and blackmail in an attempt to steal his domain out from under him.
The movie is beautifully shot, with a great performances from all involved in the movie... The amount of swearing in the movie, is actually why its rated an 18, part from the minor violence its a great movie, directed incredibly by Guy, who is an incredible director.
The movie is following an American Expat which has built a highly profitable marijuana empire in London; the word gets out that he's looking to cash out of the business for ever, it triggers some unwanted people trying to get their hands on this... Lots of brutal deaths and some funny one liners... Certainly if you're easily offended I wouldn't recommend this movie.
Out of 5 stars, I would rate it a solid 5, for its performance, the gripping movie storyline and the action, as well as a strong led cast.
Its out now in cinemas, rated 18.
