The Feeling: At The Studio @ The Other Palace

The Feeling

at The Other Palace Theatre in London
Saturday 3pm

Written by Kyra Willis,

On Saturday, we visited the Other Palace Theatre in London to watch the new show "The Feeling" described as a Dark New Comedy, was written by Kyra Willis, who runs Monsteers Artistry a agency representing actors and performers.

Strong vocal performances from all performers, with some heart breaking scenes and real life issues...

I really enjoyed "The Feeling" at the Other Palace theatre, Why, well... I thought the use of space of the stage was excellent, they really laid it out so that every piece of the stage was used.

Most of the action took place in Mel's cafe, a cafe ran by the hilarious Halie Darling, who plays Mel; Who supports Kyra's Character  "Jessie" an alcoholic who is trying to not drink, but there is so much temptation and sadly, she does drink but on hand is her friends who help her through some of her darkest moments...

There is a harrowing performance from Kyra, with a cover of Demi Lovato's song "Sober" which is absolutely incredible, and made me well up, and shed a little tear from her performance

I Don't review individual performers, as everyone was incredible, but wanted to highlight Kyra's performance of Sober, which was just incredible.

The staging worked really well, there was no blocking of other actors, and gentle lighting changes from scene to musical performances which helped tell the story of the "The Feeling"

All the actor's on stage should be proud of themselves for such a fabulous performance of The Feeling

I was reading it was their first event at The Other Palace Theatre; and Kyra's first big writing piece, she should be proud of herself for such a fantastic writing piece and I hope she follows the Feeling with a "What Happened next" as It was left at a point which makes you want to know what happens...

I hope that if the Feeling tours, or has another London run, that you go and see it for yourself, as it is incredible and so well written, with a fantastic cast, which I was surprised to see how well it was casted, each actor suited the role, as occasionally with some shows, you do get the wrong actor in the wrong role, there was no issue of this.

The Feeling At The Other Palace Theatre in London is incredible, and really worth seeing!

I also applaud them for adding on the back of the programme an action line of numbers of people, who can help if you are struggling.
They mention
Samaritans
Mind
Alcoholics Anonymous
Al-annon
Narcotics Anonymous

Thank you for reading my review of "The Feeling At The Other Palace"

Venue: The Other Palace Theatre in London - Stars 3/5, why? - Drumming could be heard constantly during the performance from the main house show, which was very off putting and an argument over a £5 note in the bar afterwards...

The Show itself! - Stars 5/5 why? - Because - It was really well, well stage and a talented cast of actors!
